Stories from the weekend (8/15-8/17)

It's the first day of practice today, so don't be surprised if you see runners doing roadwork, soccer players kicking the ball around and volleyball players filling up the gyms. ESPN/CalHiSports.com Executive Editor Mark Tennis has a story on the Sac-Joaquin Section's new Hall of Fame. The first class is scheduled to be announced early next year and inducted at a banquet in October of 2010. Find Mark's story here.

The Sacramento Bee's Joe Davidson has a feature on the Armstead brothers of Pleasant Grove. Armond, a PG graduate, earned a scholarship to play football for USC. Sophomore brother Arik just received a scholarship offer from UCLA. The football players have a bright future. Find the story here.
