Friday's championship basketball recaps

Look below for the recaps from Friday's Sac-Joaquin Section Basketball Championships from Power Balance Pavilion.

DIVISION 5 GIRLS
Bradshaw Christian 44, Brookside Christian 32
The Pride (22-9) jumped out to an early 19-7 lead and cruised from there in Bradshaw Christian's fourth consecutive Section championship in a row. Senior Jordie Smith, in her fourth Section title game, led the Pride with 17 points. She added 11 rebounds.
Her teammate Lauren Beyer, also a senior, had 14 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.
Brookside Christian, in the program's first girls basketball Section championship, featured a roster of only six players. One of those players, freshman Tiara Tucker, entered the game averaging 35.7 points in the postseason, but was held to 11. Bradshaw Christian sophomore Ashlee Jones was assigned Tucker defensively, holding her well below her scoring average.
Tucker made two free throws in the final seconds of the game, giving her 118 for her four-game Section postseason, which ranks her No. 2 on the all-time list, behind Nevada Union's Kellie Cook (149).

DIVISION 5 BOYS
Vacaville Christian 90, Bradshaw Christian 63
The Falcons (25-6) used a 29-11 third-quarter advantage to pull away from their Sierra Delta League rivals in winning the school's first-ever Section championship. Brandon Barnes scored 29 points, including seven 3-pointers, to lead Vacaville Christian. Barnes' seven 3-pointers are a Division 5 record and tie him for the overall Section championship record.
Teammate Jake Abel added 22 points and Torry Arthur had 18 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
Scott Ecklund scored 23 points to lead Bradshaw Christian; he was helped out by 15 points from Jake Adkins and 12 from Ron Henry.
The game was tight at the half, with the Falcons clinging to a 44-40 lead. But Vacaville Christian controlled the flow in the second half. The Falcons' 90 points were three away from the overall Section record.

DIVISION 3 GIRLS
Sacramento 63, Vanden 50
The Dragons (26-5) held almost every Vikings player in check, forcing 28 turnovers, in the victory over a team that beat them during the regular season. Sacramento was led by senior guard Fantasia Hilliard, who scored 26 points, had four steals and grabbed seven rebounds despite her 5-foot-3 frame.
Teammate Allie Green added 13 points and Jasmine Ware had 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Vanden was led by senior forward Erimma Amarikwa, who had 28 points and 11 rebounds. Amarikwa is going to San Diego State University next year.
It was the eighth consecutive Section championship appearance for the Dragons, and their second title. They won the D3 title in 2007 as well.

Division 3 boys
Sacramento 53, Center 48
The Dragons (27-5) parlayed an 11-0 run to end the third quarter into a close victory over the Cougars. 6-foot-11 center Robert Garrett had 15 points and nine rebounds to lead Sacramento, which won its third Section title in a row.
Aaron Cameron added 14 points for the Dragons.
Christopher Smith led Center with 13 points and Andrew Zan added 11.
