Stories for 2/8

Two Section championships were contested over the weekend, with the girls wrestling championship tournament at McNair and the boys wrestling Team Duals championship at Lincoln High of Stockton. Look below for stories, and many others from the weekend.

First, we'd be remiss if we didn't congratulate the four people from Sac-Joaquin Section schools who were part of the Green Bay Packers' Super Bowl victory on Sunday. Linebacker Desmond Bishop (he's the guy who picked up the fumble) is from Fairfield High. Defensive back Jarrett Bush (he had an interception in the game) is from Will C. Wood in Vacaville. Tight end Spencer Havner (he's on the DL and didn't play) is from Nevada Union. And offensive line coach James Campen is from Ponderosa, where he also coached. Congratulations to all of these former Sac-Joaquin Section athletes!
