Stories for 11/6 (Week 9 football previews)

We've got playoffs; we've got football previews. The Sac-Joaquin Section can even lay claim to two more World Series champions. Be aware that we'll be updating this site early Saturday afternoon with all the football game stories as well. See below, and have a great weekend!

SJS WORLD SERIES WINNERS: Two athletes from the Sac-Joaquin Section won World Series rings when the New York Yankees defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in six games a couple of days ago. C.C. Sabathia (Vallejo) and Phil Coke (Sonora) were both members of the Yankees' pitching staff. Sabathia, the Game 1 and Game 4 starter, went 0-1 with a 3.29 ERA in 13.2 innings. Coke, a left-handed reliever, had a 13.50 ERA in two appearances (1.1 innings). He finished Game 1.
