There are two new web sites out there covering Section high school sports.

The first is placersports.com, which is a collaborative effort by the folks at Gold Country Media. You'll see stories from all the Gold Country Media newspapers, concentrating on the PVL and SFL (and some SVC). Head to placersports.com for those stories.

And in the northwest corner of the Section, vacavilleinsider.com has launched. Vacaville Insider is concentratong on the schools in Vacaville, and reporter Cecil Conley is a longtime journalist. Head to vacavilleinsider.com for stories from that area.

ANOTHER ALSO: SureWestSports.com has entered into a partnership with radio station ESPN AM 1320 out of Sacramento. ESPN 1320 is expanding into the high school sports realm, and SureWestSports is helping with that. SureWest will be doing a two-minute weekly preview, two-minute weekly recap and a weekly podcast.
