And Peralta with the pin. It's Saavedra-Peralta to the finals.
ReplyDeleteFidler-Balderas on the left, Martin DelCampo-Fortado on the right.

ReplyDeleteAll Brackets are being updated here!
ReplyDeletecalgrappler.com
Team update: Before the medal matches, Oakdale now leads Vacaville 178-177.5. Each team has four in the finals. By my count, Oakdale has five in medal matches and Vacaville four.
ReplyDeleteI forwarded the brackets to John Sachs, and he said he'll be putting them online.
ReplyDeleteHWT semi-finals results?
ReplyDelete285: Schupp pinned Kris Merrill and Andrews pinned Lowman.
ReplyDeleteLooks like John posted the brackets at thecaliforniawrestler.com
ReplyDeleteFinals should be rolling at or close to 3:30. I'll be posting updates from the finals.
ReplyDeleteWill, What would you say was the biggest upset so far?
ReplyDeleteGood question. I would immediately think Tow losing to Tucker and Subjeck over Ferry, but the two kids who won are really good as well. Still, I'd probably say it's Ferry. He's a defending state champ and Subjeck is a sophomore and Ferry was on the offensive and looking good in the early part of that match.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll throw that one out to the crowd: What has been the biggest upset out there?
103 final: Saavedra on the attack from the beginning. He leads 5-0 when he turns Peralta onto his back and gets the pin right on the line.
ReplyDeleteThat pin came at 2:57.
ReplyDelete112: Fortado up 4-2 going into the third period. Fidler on bottom.
ReplyDelete112: Fortado with the win! He wins 4-2 and points to the Oakdale crowd.
ReplyDelete119: Ramirez and Greybill all over the mat! Ramirez leads 8-4 after getting back points.
119: After two periods, Ramirez leads 11-4.
ReplyDelete119: Martin Ramirez with more back points. It looks like he won 18-4.
ReplyDelete125: Fabian Garcia off to a 5-0 lead on Casa's Auston Wulfert after the first period.
125: Fabian Garcia is your champion with a 17-4 decision over Wulfert. Garcia is a three-time Section champion.
ReplyDelete130: Jankovich and Tucker on the mat.
130: Tucker takes Jankovich down and gets back points. It's 6-0 after one.
ReplyDelete130: Tucker keeps it going for an 11-0 victory. Impressive win for the sophomore.
ReplyDelete135: Shane Tate and Dalton Metivier on the mat.
135: Through two, Tate leads 1-0. Metivier on bottom to start the third.
ReplyDelete135: Metivier escape. Blood time, it's 1-1.
ReplyDelete135: Metivier with a takedown with approx. 45 seconds left! An escape in the final seconds, but not enough as Metivier wins 3-2.
ReplyDelete140: Loechler and Branum on the mat.
140: Burrage rides an early takedown to the 6-3 victory over Loechler.
ReplyDelete145s on the mat. Subjeck vs. Elliott.
145: Elliott with a takedown almost at the opening whistle. It's 2-0 early.
ReplyDeleteLots of blood time.
ReplyDeleteLoving the play by play! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSecond period: Elliott escape and is up 3-0.
ReplyDeleteElliott bleeding again, and he goes and gets his nose wrapped up with tape. And a nice takedown for a 5-0 lead.
ReplyDeleteLots of blood time for Elliott throughout this match, but he holds on for the 7-3.
ReplyDeleteare the finals gonna be on video? or is anyone taking video at mat side do you see?
ReplyDelete152: Burrage beats Thomas 5-1.
ReplyDelete160: Waldhauser and Wilson on the mat!
Waldhauser early takedown ... and we have blood time.
ReplyDeleteWilson escape. And Waldhauser gets inside for another takedown and 4-1 lead after the first period.
ReplyDeleteI see Mike Finnerty shooting video. He's Surewestsports.com. Don't see any others matside, but it's dark.
ReplyDeleteWaldhauser another takedown and it's 6-1. Early second.
ReplyDeleteWaldhauser rides him out and it's 6-1 going into the third.
ReplyDeleteWilson with a takedown at the beginning of the third but Waldhauser escapes and takes him down for a 9-3 victory. Wilson has lost twice this year, both times to Waldhauser and both times on this Tim Brown mat.
ReplyDelete171s on the mat
ReplyDeleteSecond time in a row Buck is facing an Oakdale wrestler in the finals. Last year he beat AC Brown.
ReplyDeleteScoreless first period.
ReplyDeleteNoon on top. Somehow, Buck has a point. Maybe locked hands? I missed it.
ReplyDeleteIt's 1-0 Buck through two periods. And Buck on top.
ReplyDeleteNoon reversal, he leads 2-1.
ReplyDeleteBack points for Noon! He's up 5-1.
ReplyDeleteNoon wins 6-1!
ReplyDelete189: Khymba Johnson and Jordan Sepeda on the mat.
ReplyDeleteSepeda with the fast takedown and two NF points. He's up 4-0.
ReplyDeleteJohnson escape and Sepeda up 4-1. End first period.
ReplyDeleteJohnsen escape to start second period. 4-2. They're grappling inthe middle of the mat.
ReplyDeleteThat Noon victory, by the way, pretty much sealed the team title for Oakdale.
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting matchup, with the short and muscular Sepeda vs. the rangy Johnson. They still seem pretty evenly matched.
ReplyDeleteIt remains 4-2 after the second period. Third period: Sepeda chooses neutral.
Sepeda hit for stalling and Johnson a point. 4-3.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's it! Sepeda avenges his loss to Johnson from last week';s D3 tournament.
215s on the mat: Micenheimer and Brown.
ReplyDeleteBrown with a takedown, and he lets Micenheimer up for a 2-1 lead.
ReplyDeleteBrown back points!
ReplyDeleteBrown leads 7-1 after nearly pinning Micenheimer.
ReplyDeleteBrown with a reversal and it's 9-1.
ReplyDeleteBrown back points again!
ReplyDeleteAnd that's it! Brown beats Micenheimer 12-2.
ReplyDeleteHeavies on the mat.
ReplyDeleteSchupp with a takedown and 3NF for a 5-0 lead.
ReplyDeleteSchupp in control, it's now 12-2.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's the final! Schupp wins 12-2.
